Announced Tuesday, the World Soccer Fan Celebration at Seattle Center will turn the 74-acre campus into one of Seattleโs primary civic gathering spaces during the tournament, serving as a central hub for fans throughout the citywide festivities tied to FIFA World Cup 2026โข.
Running from June 11 through July 19, the activation is part of LETโS PLAY SEA โ26, the cityโs official World Cup campaign developed by Visit Seattle to highlight experiences taking place across the region.
As one of four official fan celebration sites designated by the Seattle FIFA World Cup 26 Local Organizing Committee, Seattle Center will host free, all-ages programming intended to create a welcoming gathering place for soccer fans, families, residents, and international visitors.
โSeattle Center has always been where our city comes together, and this summer, that role expands onto the global stage,โ said Seattle Center Acting Director Randy Engstrom. โLETโS PLAY SEA โ26 โ World Soccer Fan Celebration at Seattle Center creates a shared civic experience where people can come as they are, connect with one another, and be part of something larger than themselves.โ
Organizers describe the event as a full-campus experience featuring cultural celebrations, live music, public art, food, entertainment, and interactive activities spread across multiple venues and open public spaces throughout Seattle Center.
The Armory Food & Event Hall will serve as a central indoor gathering space with food vendors, seating, and a large-format screen designed for fans to watch matches together in an all-weather environment.
The Mural Amphitheatre, located beneath the Space Needle, will host outdoor match-day activations featuring DJs, live entertainment, and expanded food and beverage offerings during select tournament days.
KEXP will also lead music-focused programming and community events at a designated gathering space on campus, while the International Fountain and surrounding open areas will feature rotating pop-ups, live performances, family-friendly activities, and public gathering areas.
Additional programming will include cultural festivals highlighting Seattleโs diverse communities, public art installations, workshops, fitness classes, and interactive exhibits designed to reflect the cityโs creativity and global identity.
Seattle Center officials said the goal is to create a large-scale civic experience that extends beyond soccer and reflects the cityโs role as an international destination during the tournament.
โSeattle Center and its partners will transform the campus into a Fan Celebration that reflects the diversity, creativity, and spirit of the city,โ organizers said in the announcement.
The campus will also play a key logistical role during the tournament as part of the cityโs Unity Loop, which is intended to connect neighborhoods, venues, and fan experiences across Seattle. Organizers say Seattle Centerโs direct transit access and planned shuttle connections will help position the campus as a major entry point into downtown fan activities.
Programming remains subject to final licensing approvals.
