Barbershop Hosts Community Chess Tournament Led By Detective Cookie Bouldin
The Sunday Barbershop Chess Tournament in Seattle’s Rainier Valley brought together youth, police officers, and community members for an afternoon of chess, mentorship, and intergenerational connection, organized by Detective Denise “Cookie” Bouldin, barbershop owner Jameel Shabazz, and the Washington Chess Federation.
