Seattle’s French Fest: A Celebration of French-Speaking Cultures returns to Seattle Center on Sunday, March 23, bringing a vibrant showcase of music, dance, cuisine, and cultural traditions from Francophone communities around the world. Part of the Seattle Center Festál series, this free annual festival invites attendees to immerse themselves in the rich diversity of French-speaking cultures, with live performances, cooking demonstrations, film screenings, wine tastings, and interactive exhibits.

Organized by France Education Northwest (FEN) and the French American Chamber of Commerce of the Pacific Northwest (FACC-PNW), the festival is inspired by the global “Day of Francophonie,” which celebrates the linguistic and cultural heritage of more than 300 million French speakers worldwide. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Seattle Center Armory Food & Event Hall.

“Now in its 13th year, Seattle’s French Fest is part of the Seattle Center Festál series and attracts thousands of visitors each year,” said Sofia-Cristina Visan, FACC-PNW Executive Director. “We invite you to join us for our 2025 festival, which will celebrate and promote Francophone cultures to the greater Seattle area while honoring the theme of ‘A Better Climate.’”

This year’s festival embraces the theme “A Better Climate,” featuring programs that highlight sustainability, environmental responsibility, and social well-being. Visitors can explore climate innovation, carbon footprint reduction, and circular economy initiatives through panel discussions and workshops led by the six committees of FACC-PNW. A Children’s Photo Exhibition on Sustainability, presented in partnership with local French-language schools, will showcase young students’ perspectives on environmental stewardship.

“French is one of the most geographically widespread languages in the world, giving many different people and cultures something fundamental in common,” said Heidi Jackson, Seattle Center Managing Artistic Director of Cultural Programs. “French Fest at Seattle Center is an opportunity to highlight ‘joie de vivre’ through the culturally rich French-speaking communities who help shape the character and course of our region.”

Culinary enthusiasts can indulge in French-inspired cooking demonstrations led by Seattle-based French chefs, while food lovers can participate in the new “Best Baguette & Best Croissant” contest, hosted in partnership with French Morning. Guests can also explore French wine tastings, artisan bakeries, and specialty food vendors.

A diverse lineup of live performances will entertain festivalgoers, including Tahitian dance by Te Fare O Tamatoa, music by Bonnie Birch, Whozyamama Cajun & Zydeco Band, La Chorale Francophone, and school choirs. Attendees can also enjoy French film screenings in partnership with Alliance Française.

This year’s festival will also honor the 45th anniversary of Seattle’s Sister City relationship with Nantes, in collaboration with the Seattle-Nantes Sister City Association (SNSCA).

The event will feature booths and vendors from local businesses, consulates, and cultural organizations, including Apple Cox, Pays Provençal, The French Guys Bakery, L’Experience Paris Bakery, Petit Pierre Bakery, Medula, and representatives from the Consulates of Canada and France in San Francisco.

Seattle’s French Fest is one of 25 cultural festivals in the Seattle Center Festál series, a public program celebrating global heritage and identity through immersive experiences.

Founded by members of the French American Chamber of Commerce of the Pacific Northwest, France Education Northwest (FEN) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to fostering awareness and appreciation of French culture.
