The American Red Cross is urging people to schedule blood and platelet donations as spring activities and travel plans begin to impact the nationโ€™s blood supply.

Officials say donors of all blood types are needed to help maintain a stable supply for patients, particularly as seasonal disruptions can reduce donations.

To encourage participation, the Red Cross is partnering with lifestyle brand Life is Good to offer a special incentive. Donors who give blood or platelets between March 30 and April 12 will receive a limited-edition Red Cross and Life is Good T-shirt, while supplies last.

โ€œItโ€™s critical that donors make and keep appointments in the weeks to come to help the blood supply stand up to any seasonal disruptions or challenges,โ€ said Paul Sullivan, senior vice president of donor services for the Red Cross.

Linne Kimball, vice president of strategic partnerships for Life is Good, said the collaboration highlights how small acts can make a meaningful difference.

โ€œGiving blood is proof that one person and one simple act can make a real difference,โ€ Kimball said.

Residents in King County and surrounding areas will have several opportunities to donate between March 30 and April 12, including the following locations:
