Trey Hammerquist and Hayes Pohlman each hauled in 50-yard touchdown receptions to lead Monroe Black.
Monroeโs defense was equally impressive, keeping Lake Stevens out of the end zone for the entire game. The only points for Lake Stevens came on a fumble recovery that was returned for a score, as Monroeโs defensive unit consistently shut down drives and controlled the tempo.

The Mariner Junior squad delivered a complete performance this weekend, combining big plays on offense with a smothering defensive effort. After opening the game with a โbend but donโt breakโ defensive approach, the offense sparked the momentum with a 95-yard quarterback keeper for a touchdown that broke the game wide open.
From there, Marinerโs defense went into lockdown mode, tallying five sacks and an interception, and shutting out the opposing offense for the rest of the game.
