CHOMP!, King Countyโ€™s free annual festival celebrating local food, farming, and sustainability, returns to Marymoor Park in Redmond on Saturday, Aug. 16, with live music, family activities, and a spotlight on local farmers.

This yearโ€™s event will benefit the Washington Hmong Farmers Cooperative, a grower-owned co-op dedicated to preserving Hmong farming traditions and increasing access to locally grown food and flowers in the Puget Sound region.

โ€œCHOMP! brings people together to celebrate whatโ€™s fresh, local, and rooted in community,โ€ said King County Parks Director Warren Jimenez. โ€œWeโ€™re honored to host this event and support a more sustainable, equitable food system across King County.โ€

Now in its ninth year, CHOMP! has become a key part of King Countyโ€™s Local Food Initiative, connecting residents with farmers, chefs, artists, and sustainability advocates.

This yearโ€™s headliner is Kim Deal, the renowned bassist and co-vocalist of the Pixies and frontwoman of The Breeders. Bug Friend will perform literacy-inspired songs for kids, rounding out a music lineup designed for all ages.

The festival also features hands-on experiences, including:

ยท Games, crafts, and gardening activities

ยท A garden focaccia bakeoff for kids

ยท Local food vendors and farm stands

ยท A petting zoo

ยท A horn parade by HONK! Fest West

ยท Sustainability demonstrations and informational booths

Hosted by King County Parks and produced by Artist Home, the team behind Timber! Outdoor Music Festival and Doe Bay Fest, CHOMP! blends music, food, and education in a single-day, all-ages event designed to celebrate local food and sustainability.

The festival will run throughout the day on Aug. 16 at Marymoor Park. Admission is free.
