The Seattle Department of Neighborhoods is accepting applications for its Neighborhood Matching Fund, a long-running program that supports grassroots projects to build stronger communities across the city.
The Neighborhood Matching Fund offers two grant opportunities. The Community Partnership Fund provides up to $50,000 for projects that create large and lasting neighborhood impacts. Applications for this fund are open now and due by 11:59 p.m. on September 8, 2025. Eligible projects include community organizing, public art installations, park improvements, cultural events, and the design and construction of community facilities.
The Small Sparks Fund offers up to $5,000 per project for smaller-scale community activities, such as neighborhood clean-ups, block parties, community art projects, and workshops. Applications for this fund are accepted on a rolling basis through October 31.
“These grants support projects that bring neighbors together, create lasting community improvements, and build a stronger Seattle,” program staff said.
Since its launch in 1988, the Neighborhood Matching Fund has supported more than 5,000 projects citywide.
To assist applicants, the Neighborhood Matching Fund team will host three virtual informational workshops. Each session will cover the grant programs, qualities of strong applications, and the review process. Neighborhood and community groups are encouraged to attend.
