Seattle Center will come alive with Polish culture on Saturday, July 12, as Polish Festival Seattle returns for a full day of food, music, dance, and family-friendly fun. The free festival runs from noon to 7 p.m. at the Seattle Center Armory Food & Event Hall and Mural Amphitheatre, celebrating this year’s theme, “Castles and Legends.”

Guests can explore the rich folklore of Poland through children’s activities, storytelling about the legendary Dragon of Kraków, and an exhibit showcasing historic Polish castles. Live performances will feature traditional folk dance and music alongside contemporary interpretations of Polish culture. Scheduled acts include Syrena Seattle and Sobótka dancers in colorful folk dress, the Vivat Musica! choir, the Zabavva band, and soloists Daniel Conrad and Marcin Pączkowski.

Food is always a highlight of the festival, and this year’s lineup promises authentic Polish cuisine and pastries from Sebi’s Kitchen, Koło Pań/Polish Women’s Club, and Warsztaty Kulinarne. Festival organizers recommend trying the pączki — Polish doughnuts known for their rich, sweet flavor.

For guests 21 and older, the outdoor beer garden sponsored by Browar Polska Inc. will offer Polish beer and vodka tastings, providing the perfect complement to a sunny Seattle afternoon.

Inside the Armory, visitors can browse the vibrant Polish marketplace, featuring amber jewelry, Polish crystal, cookbooks, and other handcrafted items.

“As a community, we do the festival at the Seattle Center to create opportunities for people to learn, enjoy, and celebrate our rich culture and to raise awareness of Polish-American contributions to the local society,” said Alisa Lahti, Polish Festival Seattle executive director and producer. “We’re very proud of our culture and evolving traditions and like to share our music, food, dance, arts, crafts, and exhibits with others.”
